A few things separate one vacuum and mop option from another.

Cordless Stick VacuumsThese are handheld, upright vacuums you push around the house yourself, generally offering strong suction (often 50,000Pa or more) in a lightweight body with a removable battery. Runtime typically runs 50 to 60 minutes on a full charge, enough for most homes in one session. Despite sometimes carrying "vac + mop" in the product name, not every cordless stick model in this range actually includes a mop function, check the spec sheet rather than the title if mopping matters to you.

Robot Vacuum-Mop CombosThese clean on a schedule without you pushing them, using either basic bump-and-turn navigation or LiDAR mapping for more precise coverage. Genuine mop function on a robot model usually means a water tank and adjustable water flow built in, not just a name. Higher-end models add a self-emptying base station, which can stretch manual maintenance out to roughly every couple of months instead of after every clean.

Suction PowerSuction is measured in Pa (Pascals). Cordless stick vacuums in this range generally run higher on paper, up to 50,000 to 60,000Pa, since they're designed for direct, hands-on cleaning of carpets and upholstery. Robot vacuums usually run lower, closer to 8,000Pa, since they're optimised for regular scheduled passes over hard floors and light carpet rather than one deep clean.

Runtime and MaintenanceCordless stick vacuums typically run 50 to 60 minutes before needing a recharge, fine for cleaning a home in one go. Robot vacuums run in shorter bursts but on a schedule, and models with a self-emptying base cut down how often you need to empty the dustbin yourself, sometimes down to once every couple of months.
